Chris and I were so excited to find out that we would be filming a wedding at DeBordieu Colony. Me, being the history buff, DeBordieu Colony has plenty of history since it is one of the oldest east coast beachside communities. DeBordieu, “The borderland of God” in French, was given its name by Marquis de Lafayette in the 18th century. This place is truly a beautiful beachside community that we just had to capture from above. Sending the drone up is where DeBordieu Colony really came alive. Seeing the 600 acres that have been set aside as a nature preserve, and surrounding southern land borders that are never to be developed was amazing.
One of my favorite parts of Danny and Kristen’s wedding was their choreographed first dance. You could feel the romance as Danny twirled Kristen around the dance floor. Another plus was their beautiful wedding cake. Their cake was covered in fresh, luscious blueberries and raspberries. Everyone’s mouth was watering at the sight of the cake.
Meeting in 2006, at Woodcreek Country Club, Danny says, it has “stuck in my brain forever. The fact that my mom and dad were with us is something cosmically significant to me. It was meant to happen, it was validated.” Although at that point it was not meant to be and they ended up meeting again two years later. Danny remembers the physical attraction that he felt toward Kristen but it was the combination of her sweetness, kindness, and physical beauty that really got to him. Danny let Kristen know that he “got another good sign from above in my run this morning. My ‘fake iPod’, SanDisk randomly played… “What is Life” by George Harrison which has the line ‘What is my life without you by my side.”
Kristen was so happy and excited for this day to finally come that she “didn’t have all the words to tell how happy and excited I am right not to be marrying my best friend and the man I truly love.” Kristen told Danny, “when I first met you I never dreamed I would be talking to my future husband but, as time moved on I began to realize that the chemistry we had was something special and it could not be duplicated.” To Kristen, Danny is someone that she can lean on, cry on his shoulder, and know that he will always be there to support her. Danny really loved it when Kristen commented on his smile. “When you smile at me with your dimples, I feel like I did when we first met all over again.”
I truly enjoyed putting your story together. Thank you for letting us be a part of your storybook wedding. Cheers to a great future. Congratulations Danny and Kristen Silvester!
